First Haircut

Brant had his first haircut this past thursday. I held out as long as possible! Darren finally told me that if I didn't make an appointment he was going to buzz it off. So I called Jana that night and made an appointment!

The Moment We've All Been Waiting For!

AH I know its been a while since I posted, it seems like life is just flying by!!! I've been extremely busy. Darren was working in Sunnyside for 2 weeks, he came home last week Friday morning and headed back over on Monday for another week :( Its hard without him here that's for sure! All my single mama friends I give you props! It is not fun!

2 weeks ago we did Brant's 2 night oxygen sleep test. I was very nervous and up literally all night both nights checking on him. From what I could see he was doing just fine. It took forever to get the results back from Children's. That was a very frustrating process but I finally heard back from them on Friday.... AND....... HE IS DONE WITH OXYGEN!!!! (unless he gets sick)

13 Months later and we are done with medical equipment.

13 Months later and no attachments.

OH HAPPY DAY. He sleeps much better without it. He actually slept through the night 2 nights in a row, I didn't think I would ever know what a full nights sleep felt like again!

fun in the snow a couple weeks ago!

That's one way to use your dump truck!

Bath time hair!

Time to catch up

Alright I have a lot of catching up to do on here! I haven't been posting because my computer charger stopped working and it took forever to get a new one. I tried on my kindle but I got too frustrated. SO here it goes....

The week of January 12 was CRAZY busy. I worked all day Monday, and Tuesday morning. After work on Tuesday I ran home, picked up Brant and headed into Bellingham to take him to his Synagis appointment. I HATE those appointments; its where they give Brant the synagis shot for RSV. He gets 2 in each leg and they are incredibly painful. He cries so hard and gets SO worked up and then usually sleeps the rest of the day. After his appointment we went home and I got to cleaning the house up.

Wednesday morning we were up and out of the house bright and early. I had a quick dentist appointment and then headed to bellingham for an annual check-up for me. After we got home I put Brant down for a nap and got to packing for Hawaii. Thursday morning I cleaned and finished packing and spent quality time with Brant before we left for the airport. Our flight left around 2:30 and we got to the hotel in Kapalua on Maui around 11 Hawaii time.

It was so nice to get away! I missed Brant a lot but I think he had a lot of fun with my mom and dad. He LOVES them. The first day we were there we took the bus into town to get groceries and figure out where everything was at then hung out by the pool until it was time to get ready for the Luau. That was a lot of fun, really good food and great show. For the most part we hung out at the beach by the hotel and at the pool. We did go zip lining one day. We had to check in by 7:30 and then headed up the mountain with our instructors- whose names were Trevor & Peter (we all got a good laugh about that- Trevor's roommates name is Peter). It was a blast.

We had a lot of fun but were definitely ready to come home. When we got on the plane to head home Darren and I looked at each other and both said we missed Brant and wanted to go home and see him.

Brant- 1 Year old

OH my where oh where did the time go???

My baby is 1 year old....

I was pretty emotional in the time leading up to his birthday, and honestly I'm still emotional and times and it totally catches me off guard. We had a big super bowl/birthday party for Brant and Darren. It went good. Though half way through the party I started not feeling all that great. Once everyone left I crawled in bed and slept through the majority of the game. I woke up that night feeling pretty awful and had a really high fever. I tried going to work on Monday but they sent me home. And I'm glad because a day of rest seemed to be just what I needed!

Here are a bunch of pictures from Brant's 1 year pictures that we had done by Cassie Van Boven- she did an AWESOME job!

what a little model

one of my favorites!

he was not a fan of cake....

Feeling accomplished!

This weekend was busy for us but we got a lot accomplished on the house! A big thanks to Justin for helping us out!

Friday after I got off work I went to pick Brant up from Nicki's. I hung out there for a little while because Darren & Justin were going to go get dinner so there was no rush to get home. Then us girls decided to go out for Sushi. We went to Nami in Lynden so that I could take Brant with us (whenever we go we are generally the only ones in there). After I got home Brant was NOT tired. He was actually pretty wired so we took down the Christmas tree and got that all cleaned up. There's 1 thing off my to-do list. I usually would keep it up longer but I was getting so sick of getting after him about grabbing the lights and sticking them in his mouth.

Saturday morning Darren decided not to go snowmobiling even though it would've been an awesome day and get the garage done. We started around 9 cleaning it out and then around 10-10:30 we went out for breakfast and to get supplies. The garage was left unfinished and the previous owners had put so many nails into the walls that we had a lot of patching to do. It was like anytime they had some random thing to put somewhere they put a nail in the garage wall and hung it up. It's called a peg-board people!!! so frustrating. Darren & Justin pulled all the nails out, patched everything and then we all got to painting. It looks SO. MUCH. BETTER. Darren & I were up until 11:30 finishing painting and then taking everything back in and reorganizing. We still have some work to do. Darren ordered some lights from our electrician friend that he needs to go pick up and then hang in there. He also wants to make a work bench on one of the walls and make it so that his tool box can slide under it. And this summer I think I'm going to try to stain all the storage shelves. But for now it is looking great!

We have a lot of projects that need to get done around the house. The biggest one next is finishing the patio once the ground thaws. We still have a big hole in the yard... That's going to be quite the project for Darren and I'm so hoping he will get it done before I hardly ever see him for a few months when it gets busy.

MY projects that I need to do yet is first paint our bedroom... the only thing holding me back is deciding on a color. Usually I know exactly what I want to do but that room I'm being very indecisive. After I tackle that I'm going to move to the laundry room. I think I've decided what I'm going to do in there. THEN I'm moving on to redoing the tile thats on the fireplace. I HATE it. Its white tile with pink in it... I would like to do some pretty small glass tiles and then slate tiles.

Darren went to Church today while I hung out with Brant. We are off to his cousins birthday party this afternoon then we will hang out at mom and dad's for a while. This week begins the crazy busy schedule before Darren & I leave for Hawaii. We are leaving Brant with my mom and dad. I'm so looking forward to getting away but nervous about being so far away from him. I know he will be great hands and nothing will happen but I've never been that far away from him or left him overnight since he was in the NICU!

2013 Wrap-up

Well 2013... I don't even know what to say. Good ridden? So long? Thank you? Nothing seems quite right. 2013 was the most stressful year on me thus far; the most worrisome, yet brought the greatest joy of all.

In ways I'm sad that its already 2014. That means my baby is going to be a year old in a few short weeks. AH still hard to say that! He can't be a year old already! Stop the clock!!!! But I'm also glad to put the past year behind us a move forward.

I usually don't do resolutions but I am this year, and this year I want to make sure I stop and enjoy the moment. I don't want to be constantly looking forward to what the next day has to bring or constantly thinking about what happened the day before. I want to be thankful for the day I have and enjoy them with Brant and Darren because they'll be gone so fast.
