Feeling accomplished!

This weekend was busy for us but we got a lot accomplished on the house! A big thanks to Justin for helping us out!

Friday after I got off work I went to pick Brant up from Nicki's. I hung out there for a little while because Darren & Justin were going to go get dinner so there was no rush to get home. Then us girls decided to go out for Sushi. We went to Nami in Lynden so that I could take Brant with us (whenever we go we are generally the only ones in there). After I got home Brant was NOT tired. He was actually pretty wired so we took down the Christmas tree and got that all cleaned up. There's 1 thing off my to-do list. I usually would keep it up longer but I was getting so sick of getting after him about grabbing the lights and sticking them in his mouth.

Saturday morning Darren decided not to go snowmobiling even though it would've been an awesome day and get the garage done. We started around 9 cleaning it out and then around 10-10:30 we went out for breakfast and to get supplies. The garage was left unfinished and the previous owners had put so many nails into the walls that we had a lot of patching to do. It was like anytime they had some random thing to put somewhere they put a nail in the garage wall and hung it up. It's called a peg-board people!!! so frustrating. Darren & Justin pulled all the nails out, patched everything and then we all got to painting. It looks SO. MUCH. BETTER. Darren & I were up until 11:30 finishing painting and then taking everything back in and reorganizing. We still have some work to do. Darren ordered some lights from our electrician friend that he needs to go pick up and then hang in there. He also wants to make a work bench on one of the walls and make it so that his tool box can slide under it. And this summer I think I'm going to try to stain all the storage shelves. But for now it is looking great!

We have a lot of projects that need to get done around the house. The biggest one next is finishing the patio once the ground thaws. We still have a big hole in the yard... That's going to be quite the project for Darren and I'm so hoping he will get it done before I hardly ever see him for a few months when it gets busy.

MY projects that I need to do yet is first paint our bedroom... the only thing holding me back is deciding on a color. Usually I know exactly what I want to do but that room I'm being very indecisive. After I tackle that I'm going to move to the laundry room. I think I've decided what I'm going to do in there. THEN I'm moving on to redoing the tile thats on the fireplace. I HATE it. Its white tile with pink in it... I would like to do some pretty small glass tiles and then slate tiles.

Darren went to Church today while I hung out with Brant. We are off to his cousins birthday party this afternoon then we will hang out at mom and dad's for a while. This week begins the crazy busy schedule before Darren & I leave for Hawaii. We are leaving Brant with my mom and dad. I'm so looking forward to getting away but nervous about being so far away from him. I know he will be great hands and nothing will happen but I've never been that far away from him or left him overnight since he was in the NICU!

2013 Wrap-up

Well 2013... I don't even know what to say. Good ridden? So long? Thank you? Nothing seems quite right. 2013 was the most stressful year on me thus far; the most worrisome, yet brought the greatest joy of all.

In ways I'm sad that its already 2014. That means my baby is going to be a year old in a few short weeks. AH still hard to say that! He can't be a year old already! Stop the clock!!!! But I'm also glad to put the past year behind us a move forward.

I usually don't do resolutions but I am this year, and this year I want to make sure I stop and enjoy the moment. I don't want to be constantly looking forward to what the next day has to bring or constantly thinking about what happened the day before. I want to be thankful for the day I have and enjoy them with Brant and Darren because they'll be gone so fast.
