fun weekend.... for the most part

This weekend my family went to Winthrop for Cody's graduation "party" I guess you could call it. Instead of a grad. party he wanted the whole family to go to Winthrop. We rented a cabin in the same spot that we went to after Christmas but this time we had Brant and Brent and his girlfriend Briana. It was a fun time though yesterday and tonight have been pretty rough with Brant. He will sleep all night but then during the day refuse to take a nap. He won't let himself fall asleep and gets SO crabby. I think yesterday he may have had an upset tummy. He just cried and cried until FINALLY I got him to calm down and take a little nap.

This morning when I was trying to get him ready to go and we were all trying to get packed up to check out of the cabin he just SCREAMED when I tried putting clothes on him. He loves to be nakey! so I just left him be while I got all his stuff packed. And when we got home tonight and he started crying and I tried everything else, what worked? Stripping him naked and he's happy as can be. I finally had got him to fall asleep by rocking in the chair but when I put him in the crib it lasted 5 minutes before he was crying. I pick him up and he goes back to sleep.... rocked him to sleep again and this time was able to put him down. I should be putting all of our stuff away and doing laundry but I'm taking this minute to sit and enjoy the quiet... laundry can wait right?

This coming Sunday is Brant's baptism at our church. And this Friday he is 6 months old... I can hardly believe it!!!! I think Sunday we will try to get some family shots and his 6 month pictures taken if we can find someone available to do them. Didn't even think about it until now! oops...

And stupid me didn't take any pictures this weekend....

Oh and on a side note we have graduated to big bottles!!! YAY, no more 4 ounce bottles! He's getting to be such a big boy! The last couple days he has been such a chunker! he previously would take 100-110cc bottles but all weekend he has been taking, and finishing no problem, 135cc. Quite the jump I'd say!

Brant had a check up with his pediatrician today. He weighs 12 pounds 11.5 ounces and is 24 and 1/4 inches long! He is actually on the charts for length! SO exciting!! Not on the charts for weight yet but his doctor showed me his growth charts and he is steadily gaining and closing in that gap! The picture was taken while we were waiting for the doctor to come in. 

Friday he will be 13 weeks adjusted and August 2 he will be 6 months already! Seriously where has the time gone?? He is very close to rolling over and EVERYTHING is in his mouth these days. He is eating 100-110cc every 2.5-3 hours and sleeps from between 10-11ish to 6-7ish at night. He is always smiling when I pick him up in the morning and playing. He is a very happy baby. Though he does fight naps. He will be very happy and playful one minute and the next he will have a total meltdown and generally has to be rocked and sang to to take a nap.

Geesh! finally getting a post in. We had a great 4th of July- the morning started out by Darren going to work and me and Tanisha dropping off Brant with my mom and meeting Nicki, Amber and Joyce at Jimmy's in Fairhaven to get pedicures for a late mothers day present for Joyce. Then I went and picked up Brant and followed my mom out to Arlin & Sheila's cabin to hang out the rest of the day/evening (Darren came out later).

I have kept myself fairly busy between caring for Brant and working. I got mine and Darren's bathroom painted. Waiting for my light fixtures for the guest bath to show up before I paint that one- I HATE painting bathrooms!

Other than that not much has been going on. Next week Brant has an appointment with his pediatrician and August 28 & 29 we will be in Seattle for UW and Children's appointments. He is still on oxygen, still working on weaning him. I'm not doing a very good job and being super consistent at it. Its just one more thing for me to do/worry about. He does do great off of it. There has only been 1 time where I had to put it back on him because he was dropping a little low.

A few little quirks we are learning about Brant:  - he fights naps... like really fights them- he likes the water- loves his bath and wasn't too sure about the pool today but he didn't cry! he loves to put his lovey over his face when he sleeps.

Weekend getaway & picture catch-up!

We went to Leavenworth this past weekend with my mom and dad and Cody. Darren and Cody rode in the blazer over... with the top off... and me, mom, dad and Brant took my car. The forecast said sunny and 100+ degrees all weekend. Well it started raining a little right before we came into town but it was no big deal. When we got there it wasn't time to check into the condo yet so we headed to downtown. We got Brant unloaded and into the stroller, found a table at our usual hang-out (The Munchen Haus Beer Garden. We were there for maybe 20 minutes the sky opened up and started POURING! Darren and Cody ran to blazer and got a tarp over it. Later we checked into the condo, got dried off and cleaned up and hung out. Mom, dad and Cody went to dinner then came back and stayed with Brant while Darren and I went out for our anniversary.

Sunday morning it was gorgeous out, not a cloud in sight so Dad, Darren and Cody hopped into the Blazer early and headed up the mountain down some trails. Mom, Brant and I slept in, I ran to starbucks and got us coffee and breakfast and we hung out for a while then packed up, checked out and walked through town, did some shopping, and walked to the river. Later we met up with the guys and it was HOT. So we found a beer garden that was off of the main street so it wouldn't be so busy, found a table in the shade under the misters and hung out there for the rest of day! It was really nice, plus they had a live band which was fun to listen to. When we got in my car to leave it was 107... too hot for me! but it was a really fun weekend.

5 months

Brant turned 5 months yesterday! Can't believe it. His adjusted age is 10 weeks on Friday. At his last doctors appointment he weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces but I'm sure he's over 12 by now. He still isn't quite giggling yet but so close. Hates tummy time- which is weird because he loved to be on his tummy in the NICU. But now he just gets mad; he likes to see everything thats going on and we think he gets frustrated when he can't hold himself up to do so. He is holding his head awesome. His "new thing" is to grab his cords suck on them, oh and in the middle of the night rip off his nasal cannula. We are up to an hour off oxygen 2 times a day. But its hard because he takes a lot of little cat naps and he can't be off when he's sleeping so it's usually not a consecutive hour.
