Big day for Brant

Today was  a pretty big day for Brant. He weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. They decided to test out how he would do completely off oxygen. We took out his cannula and he did pretty good. He does however need some support during and a little while after he eats. So tonight they put the cannula back in but changed his flow from 1 liter/minute to .25 liters/minute which is what they call low flow. It's basically the stepping stone between 1 liter and and off oxygen. They go even lower than that if needed but right now that's what he's at and we'll see how the night goes.

I gave him a bath around noon and Becky came and we did a photo shoot in his room. Thank you SO much Becky and Brant's nurse Tara!! Tara was awesome posing him and helping position him. We did all of this while he was off oxygen and Tara also took out his feeding tube for it- it needed to be changed out anyway. We also did it right after his bath so all of his leads were off. I finally got to hold him with absolutely NO tubes or wires!!! It brought tears to my eyes to be able to walk across the room with him and not worrying about the tripping or snagging one of his cords. Mom and I went and got some props yesterday and I cannot wait to see the shots Becky got!

Here is a little preview...
